Javillier's wine that sees the most new oak is the Meursault Les Tillets (30% whereas the other non-generic wines only see 25%). Earthy and spicy on the nose, this wine displays fat, leesy, buttery hazelnut flavors within a thick texture. Minerals come to the fore on the back-end. Drink it between now-2004. Javillier also makes a Meursault Charmes but I did not have the opportunity to taste it.
This note is the result of tastings I did in Burgundy between January 7 and January 29. Ratings with a range of scores in parentheses indicate the wine was tasted from cask, not bottle.
