The remaining juice left over after Rayas, Fonsalette, and Pignan are bottled is assembled into a cuvee called Pialade. The 1999 Pialade Cotes du Rhone (1,000 cases) possesses a light ruby color along with notions of the Rayas/Pignan style, but finishes quickly. It is a pleasant, elegant, cherry fruit-dominated wine to drink over the next 3-4 years. Importers: Alain Junguenet, Wines of France, Mountainside, NJ; tel.
