The medium ruby-colored 1997 Red Ochre (a blend of 88% Grenache and 12% Syrah) exhibits a distinctive nose of pepper, kirsch liqueur, and spice, followed by berry/cherry fruit with good ripeness, and spicy, soft, medium-bodied flavors. It should be drunk over the next 1-2 years. This wine is a very good value.Importer: Old Bridge Cellars (Rob McDonald), San Francisco, CA; tel. (415) 863-9463
