The 2010 Muller-Thurgau sparkles on the palate with lovely varietal definition vibrancy and pure minerality. Yellow peaches, orange peel, flowers and mint are nicely layered in this expressive, delineated wine. The Muller-Thurgau is a delicious wine for the money. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2015. The 2010s from Abbazzia di Novacella are mixed. Although there are plenty of excellent choices in this range, some of the wines are less than exciting, including the Pinot Grigio and the Sauvignon. The 2008 Muller Thurgau literally sparkles on the palate with well-articulated aromas and flavors that come together with notable harmony. The finish is subtle and nuanced in its suggestions of mint, flowers, lime and passion fruit. This polished white also happens to be a terrific value. Anticipated maturity: 2009-2012. Abbazia di Novacella is an excellent source for wines from Alto Adige loaded with varietal character. The entry-level whites (in the Alsatian-style bottles) are aged in steel.
