In elegant packaging, the Ada Nada 2019 Barbaresco Valeirano reveals a lean style with very lively aromas that recall wild cherry, medicinal herb and even a hint of eucalyptus essence that is rather unusual for Nebbiolo. These aromas provide a lifted and elegant quality. The wine proceeds to the palate with an easy texture and a point of sour fruit.

A classic but accessible expression of fruit from a two-hectare site in the village of Treiso (with its rolling hills and wide views of the beautiful Barbaresco landscape), the Ada Nada 2017 Barbaresco Valeirano reveals a silky and lean appearance with wild berries and crushed flowers. There is an almost exotic touch to the bouquet with hints of coriander or saffron. When all is said and done, this Barbaresco shows character and depth and will be a pleasure to open with a small serving of risotto alla Milanese in the next few years. Production is 10,000 bottles.

Drawing its fruit from Treiso, the Ada Nada 2016 Barbaresco Valeirano shows beautiful purity with many aromatic high tones. Red cherry is followed by blue flower, crushed stone, spice and grilled herb. I also notice a very pretty menthol or balsamic aroma that gives lift and intensity to the bouquet. There's a touch of crushed limestone minerality too. From a classic vintage, the Valeirano offers a streamlined body, elegant tannins and lots of specific flavor detailing.

The 2012 Barbaresco Valeirano starts off with gangbuster intensity but then slows down to reveal lots of oak spice and smoke. For some reason, those oak-driven aromas lift apart from the rest of the bouquet and feel less integrated overall. This Nebbiolo offers plenty of dark fruit, spice and a touch of cured meat or savory tobacco.
