The 2021 Selección Malbec was produced from older vineyards in the Valle de Uco with part of the wine matured in used barrels. It combines varietal fruit and spice in a nice and harmonious way. It's juicy, fruit driven and has fine tannins that can stand up to food.

I find a little more ripeness and rusticity, with some unresolved tannins, in the 2020 Selección Malbec when compared with the 2019 I tasted next to it. It finishes dry and with a slightly bitter note.

The 2019 Selección Malbec was produced from older vineyards in the Valle de Uco and only part of the wine matured in used barrels, so it has a nice combination between fruit and spice. It has more depth than the regular Malbec and feels more complete than the 2020 version that I also tasted next to it. It has good complexity and texture. It finishes dry and clean.

The 2018 Selección Malbec was produced exclusively from older vineyards in the Valle de Uco, and part of the wine matured in used barrels. It has more depth than the regular Malbec, especially in the palate, where it shows more complexity and is more textured. 480,000 bottles produced.

The 2016 Alamos Selección Malbec shows some more concentration and a deeper color than its siblings. It's pure Malbec from different vineyards in the Valle de Uco, a zone that saw a cool and wet season in which the vines behaved quite well. The palate reveals some grainy tannins that would welcome some food. 480,000 bottles produced.
