The 2009 La Milana is a blend of 30% Syrah, 25% Tempranillo, 25% Merlot, and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon weighing in at 15% alcohol. The nose shows the 14 months of oak aging and also the heat from the vintage in the shape of overripe aromas of prunes, raisins, dried figs and dates, and a palate that is equally ripe and round, with a fat texture and a little warmth toward the finish. The 2005 Finca La Milana was sourced from the highest elevation in Penedes. Dark ruby-colored, it has an enticing nose of spice box, earth notes, and blackberry.
