This red cuvee is an elegant, medium-bodied offering with dry tannin and good acidity. The Col.leccio offering is a serious effort. The wine is aged 12 months in a combination of American and French oak, then lightly filtered prior to bottling. Reminiscent of an internationally styled Bordeaux, the 2001 Cabernet Sauvignon Col.leccio exhibits a dense ruby/purple color along with a chewy, cedar, spice box, vanilla, earth, and black currant-scented bouquet. Firm, medium-bodied, angular, and well-made, it should drink well for 5-6 years.
