The 2007 Tannhammer (Chardonnay/Sauvignon) flows across the palate with expressive fruit. The combination of Chardonnay and Sauvignon works especially well here, as the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. Juicy apricots, peaches, flowers, mint and spices flow through effortlessly to the generous, creamy finish. I especially like the way the wine continues to develop in the glass. The 2006 Tannhammer is equal parts Chardonnay and Sauvignon that spent several months on its fine lees. Ripe tropical fruit laced with perfumed aromatics emerge from the 2006 Tannhammer. Medium in body, the wine possesses terrific length and vibrancy in a generous style. Anticipated maturity: 2009-2012.
