This is rather sweet and forward for a Cab Franc, but it does kick in with the grape’s chewy tannins, giving the back end heft and depth. The fruit is light and tastes of simple raspberry; the tannins and the back end show earth, compost, and other interesting annotations. Good winemaking shows the potential for these still-young grapes. ——P.G.(7/1/2008)—— 88
