Pale ruby-purple, the 2019 Pinot Noir Ceras is seamless, ethereal and so, so beautiful! It has an alluring perfume of cranberries, raspberries, blood orange and woodsmoke with swirls of floral perfume, and the palate is weightless and intense, with pristine flavors and a long, haunting finish.

Medium ruby in color, the 2015 Pinot Noir Ceras has pretty scents of tobacco leaves, dusty earth, dried red berries and autumn leaves with lilting floral perfume in the background. In the mouth, it's super silky, medium-bodied and surprising with its depth of amaro and earth-laced flavors. It has a grainy supporting frame and soft freshness, and it finishes very long and layered.

The 2014 Pinot Noir Ceras is a gorgeous, singular wine full of personality and, like the rosé, not easily defined—the aromas and flavors are energetic but ethereal, familiar and unknowable. It has a perfume of fresh rose petal, blood orange peel, ripe raspberries, green tobacco leaf, hints of laurel, fresh strawberries, dusty earth and amaro notions. In the mouth, it's medium-bodied, silky and layered, swelling with nuanced fruits and juicy acidity before finishing precise and very long. Absolutely lovely.

The 2013 Pinot Noir Ceras, blended blind as usual, is about "mineralité" according to winemaker Maggie Harrison. There is some whole cluster in this blend, around 11%. It has a very delineated bouquet with cranberry and crushed strawberry, crushed stone, very Pommard-like in style and extremely well focused. The palate is medium-bodied with edgy and lace-like tannin, more black fruit than red; conspicuously saline in the mouth and revealing a subtle marine influence towards the finish that comes across as Old World in style. It is another wonderful 2013 from Antica Terra - not cheap, but quality never usually is.

The 2012 Pinot Noir Ceras is Maggie Harrison's mineral take of Pinot Noir (she actually uses the word "aerial" in her technical sheet). It does indeed offer an ethereal bouquet that is just so succinct: a carapace of dark cherry and blackcurrant fruit interspersed with cold granite, walnut and smoke scents that are beautifully defined. The palate is medium-bodied with filigree tannins, a lot of salinity and superb tension all the way through to the finish. What a wonderful Pinot Noir - the kind of wine I can guarantee you will finish to the final drop.
