Handpicked and fermented in open top vats, the 2008 Serenity is aged for 12 months in oak of which 35% is new. It has a refined bouquet with delicate notes of raspberry leaf, liquorice and a touch of bay leaf. The palate is medium-bodied with lithe tannins and a fine thread of acidity. To be frank, it does not offer great substance, however it is tensile and focused with vibrant redcurrant and raspberry notes emerging towards the well-executed finish. This is one of Kevin Grant’s finest reds?and I suspect they will only get better in the future. Drink now-2018.
