The 2012 Grifi is a tasty blend of Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon in equal measure. The wine delivers a slightly evolved profile with robust and luscious fruit at its core. This is especially true in terms of the bouquet where the wine reveals earthy intensity backed by savory and leathery overtones. However, the wine is pleasingly elegant and finessed overall. When you dig a little deeper, you can taste some of the heat and the jammy fruit of the vintage. There is a distant point of sweetness on the finish.
