Of these entry-level wines from Beni di Batasiolo, this 2017 Langhe Nebbiolo is the most versatile and genuine. That's not to say that you should expect any great level of complexity or depth; however, the wine does deliver nice aromas of forest fruit, blue flower and white licorice. It's all very simple and one-dimensional, but this wine and its natural freshness would pair well with your favorite burger and fries. Some 9,160 12-bottles cases were made.

This lean-bodied and compact Nebbiolo makes for nice, easy drinking, but it also shows good length and momentum. So, it works well with any pasta with melted mozzarella or oven-roasted lasagna. With 100,000 bottles made, the 2016 Langhe Nebbiolo should not be hard to find in retail stores.

This is a simple and easy-drinking wine that shows a lean garnet appearance with copper-colored highlights at the rim. In fact, the 2015 Langhe Nebbiolo appears a bit older than it really is. The 2015 vintage was warm in the Langhe, and that extra heat takes intensity away from Nebbiolo's ruby color. The bouquet here shows good balance with wild berry aromas and a touch of bitter almond.
