Revealing a very deep garnet-black color, the 2006 Great Western Bin 0 Shiraz gives pronounced earth and spice notes of loam, tar, underbrush, anise, cinnamon stick and nutmeg over concentrated blackberry essence and espresso. The medium to full bodied palate gives a nice backbone of crisp acid and medium-firm, fine tannins with a good amount of earthy / spicy fruit to provide ample padding. The finish is long with lingering anise and espresso notes. This wine is beginning to drink well now, yet has the capacity to develop until 2018+. No known USA importer.
