The medium-bodied palate is surprising—it explodes with concentrated, spicy fruit! It has a very fine, chalky texture, seamless acidity and a long, nuanced finish. It deserves 3-5 years to unwind in bottle.

From Pommard clone vines planted in 1979, the medium ruby-purple colored 2019 Pinot Noir Flat Block offers dark red fruits on the nose with accents of licorice, Angostura bitters and tea leaves. Medium-bodied, it has intense, very pure flavors, silty tannins and bright acidity, finishing with loads of layers. It's an especially complex, seamless iteration of the Flat Block Pinot Noir.

The 2018 Pinot Noir Flat Block is black-fruited and minerally on the nose, with savory and spicy accents. The medium-bodied palate is powerful and broody with abundant, grainy tannins, fresh acidity and loads of spicy accents across the long finish. This is a great candidate for the cellar.

The pale ruby-purple colored 2017 Pinot Noir Flat Block comes from Pommard clone vines planted in 1979. It's scented of crushed black cherries, red currant and rhubarb with nuances of violets, fragrant earth, dried lilacs, orange peel and dust. The medium-bodied palate is silky and slow to blossom, with finely grained tannins, juicy acidity and a long, floral and spice-laced finish.

From own-rooted vines planted in 1979, the pale to medium ruby-purple colored 2016 Pinot Noir Estate Flat Block opens with bramble berry jam, smoked meats and black peppercorn aromas over notes of baked red cherries, cinnamon stick and floral perfume. Medium-bodied, it fills the mouth with warm, ripe black and red cherries and berries notions, swelling with lovely sweet perfume and spice, structured with fine, grainy tannins and gobs of freshness, finishing very long with tons of sweet fruit. 100 cases produced.
