The 2007 Big Sky Te Muna Road Pinot Noir has a quintessential Martinborough bouquet, dark cherries, black plum, a touch of wild hedgerow and just a slight stalkiness that lends it freshness and intrigue. Soft entry, spicy black fruits on the palate, not quite as refined as the nose implied, but quite racy and lively. There is a touch of hardness on the finish. Good effort – there is obviously a great wine in the offing from Big Sky so I will be keeping a look out for this name in the future. Drink now-2011.No known American importer.
