The 2011 Re?as Selección is a blend of Monastrell with 30% Syrah, obviously a selection of old-vine Monastrell fermented in stainless steel and aged in French and American oak barrels (225- and 500-liter) for one year. It has a nose dominated by oak-related aromas of vanilla, cinnamon, smoke, spices, toast and even resin that makes it impossible to get to the fruit that must be in there. As you can imagine the palate is plagued by dry, puckering tannins that make it really not very nice. 10,000 bottles were produced.
