The 2009 Callejo Crianza comes from 40-year-old vines and is aged for 15 months in new French oak. That oak is well-integrated on the nose with luscious black cherries, blueberry and lavender scents. The palate is medium-bodied with silky smooth tannins and while a lot of oak is evident, it is nicely integrated with the luscious dark cherry and blueberry fruit, with a faint hint of balsamic on the finish.
