The 2004 Reserva is made up of 64% Tempranillo, 20% Merlot, and 16% Cabernet Sauvignon aged for 14 months in 60% new French oak. It is easily the most expressive of the trio (2004 was a great vintage) with a charming perfume of exotic spices, incense, violets, mineral, black cherry, and blackberry. Lush, deep, and lengthy on the palate, it has the structure to evolve for another 4-5 years and will be at its best from 2015 to 2029. The Chivite Collecion 125 reds, it should be pointed out, offer excellent value for their level of quality. All of the new releases from Chivite Collecion 125 merit outstanding ratings.Importer: Peter Deutsch, Spain Wine Collection, Congers, NY; Tel.
