The 2007 Cuatro Pasos, a custom cuvee made for importer Eric Solomon, was aged for three months in French and American oak. It is a glass-coating opaque purple color with an enticing perfume of smoke, blueberry, and black raspberry. Elegant and smooth-textured, this flavorful, pleasure-bent effort will go down easily over the next four years. The DO of Bierzo has become increasingly popular over the past few years (rightfully I think) and as a result, prices have risen.
