The 2005 Vendimia Seleccionada is a blend of 45% Merlot, 45% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Tempranillo with malolactic in new oak followed by another 24 months aging in barrel. Made in a fruitier, up-front style, it surrenders a brooding bouquet of cinnamon, clove, vanilla, balsam wood, leather, black currant, and blackberry. With considerable underlying structure, excellent volume, and impeccable balance, it will benefit from another 3-4 years of cellaring and deliver optimum drinking from 2014 to 2020 if not longer.
