The 2006 Abadengo Crianza comes from 60-year-old Juan Garcia grapes and is matured in new French oak for 13 months. Its light floral, resin-like bouquet (displaying a nice touch of volatile acidity) leads to an enjoyable palate that offers tart cherry fruits underpinned by racy acidity, with touches of spice and mulberry on the finish. This is a fresh, well-crafted wine that is missing a little length. Drink now-2014.
This estate is located in Perena de la Ribera in Salamanca, peering over the Duero from 600 meters altitude. They focus on indigenous grape varieties such as Juan Garcia and Brunal.
