The new collection includes one white wine, the 2008 Idrias Chardonnay, aged for 2 months in a mix of new and used French and Hungarian oak. Light gold-colored, it offers up notes of buttered popcorn, poached pear, and white peach with a hint of tropical aromas. On the palate it is medium-bodied with plenty of ripe fruit, lively acidity, and solid length. This is a very good value that can be enjoyed over the next 2-3 years.
Bodegas Sierra de Guara has 132 acres of Chardonnay, Tempranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot under cultivation in Somontano.
