The 2011 Tampesta Rosado (also made from Prieto Picudo) is more classic, although very earthy as well. The wine’s strawberry character wins out over the distinctive damp earth note. Bodegas Tampesta’s 2010 Rosado is made from 100% Prieto Picudo naturally fermented and aged in stainless steel. Medium pink in color, it offers up a spicy nose of cinnamon and cloves, cranberry, and rose petal. This leads to a savory wine with attractive flavors that is in need of greater depth.
