Dark gold in color and perfumed on the nose in a mix of apple blossom and sea spray, this wine is aged in a majority of seasoned French oak and a third stainless steel. It's soft, layered and voluptuous on the palate, despite its cool provenance and tenacious acidity.

Light, bright gold. Powerful, mineral-inflected aromas of Meyer lemon, pear skin, honey and white flowers. Stains the palate with vibrant orchard fruit flavors and shows a refreshingly bitter citrus pith quality with air. Blends power with energy smoothly and finishes with crackling mineral and spice notes plus a hint of anise.

This shows the streamlined acidity and minerality of a fine coastal Chardonnay, as well as the dryness. But the ripeness is impressive, suggesting notes of Key lime pie, lemon meringue and ripe, sweet kiwi, with subtle oak influence. An impressive wine from start to finish.
