The 2002 Soave Tufaie is the best white wine the house has made in years, floral, mineral, and attractively herbaceous, crisp and vigorous in flavor, and with a focused, refreshing close. There is still plenty of distance to travel before these wines reach the level the ownership is aiming at, but, to coin a phrase, Rome was not built in a day.
After many years of innocuous wines, Bolla appears once again on the move. With a new dynamism from its American owners, who have taken charge of operations, and a new winemaking team headed by consultant Paolo Caciorgna, this sleeping giant has the potential to make some of the Veneto’s best wines, red and white.
