The 2008 Rosso Piceno Tenuta Pongelli (Montepulciano, Sangiovese) emerges from the glass with dark red berries, flowers tobacco and underbrush. It is a beautiful, feminine red well-suited to drinking over the next few years. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2018. Bucci is a reference point winery for the Marche. The Verdicchios in particular are standouts.
