The Villa Bucci 2015 Rosso Piceno Villa Bucci is a blend of 85% Montepulciano and 15% Sangiovese that goes into oak barrel for a brief six months. The wine offers dark fruit aromas and plums and more fruit-forward flavors that are generously enhanced by the sunshine and heat of the 2015 vintage. In fact, the richness of the primary fruit is this wine's lasting signature. It's a well-made red to serve with veal roasted according to local tradition: marjoram, onion, carrot, crushed tomato and pancetta. Some 8,000 bottles were made.

Dark red berries, flowers, spices and sweet herbs all flesh out in the 2008 Rosso Piceno Villa Bucci. This pleasant, mid-weight red is best suited for drinking over the next few years. The 2008 is 70% Montepulciano and 30% Sangiovese. Anticipated maturity: 2013-2015. Ampelio Bucci's wines have always had tons of appeal. The 2006 Rosso Piceno Villa Bucci, 70% Montepulciano and 30% Sangiovese, is the estate's top red. Super-ripe dark cherries, menthol, tar, pine and spices take shape beautifully in the glass in this fleshy, opulent red. All of the elements meld together with unusual class and pedigree on the voluptuous, creamy finish. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2021. Bucci is a reference point winery for the Marche. The Verdicchios in particular are standouts. While readers are likely to drink these wines pretty much upon release, they do have an ability to age gracefully.
