The super classical red 2007 Reserva Especial had a long maceration and matured in new French oak barrels for 14 months. It's 80% Cabernet Sauvignon and 20% Merlot form 43-year-old vines, the first vines the current generation planted with their father. The wine has a Mediterranean Bordeaux profile with herbal and berry aromas intermixed with cedar, spice and oak-related aromas, quite integrated and polished. The palate is round and soft, with resolved tannins and tasty flavors, approachable now but with life ahead of it. 5,312 bottles produced.
