The 2010 Reguengos is a 40/40 blend of Trincadeira and Aragonez, with 20% Castelao. For the extra buck, this is an obvious step up on its sibling reviewed this issue, the Terras d’el Rei, showing better structure, a more serious demeanor and a livelier feel. With good acidity and a little tannic bite, it seems like real wine, with some grip and a little intensity on the finish, even if not terribly concentrated. It will probably shed its tannins quickly and thin fairly fast with time, but in this price range that’s not much of a criticism. It should be quite charming right now and may exceed expectations given the price. The younger you drink it, the happier you’ll be. Drink now-2013. Importer: Tri-Vin Imports, Mt. Vernon, NY; tel.
