Quite herbal on the nose, with aromas of tomato and green peppers. In a word, it’s basic Carmenere, with a fair amount of vegetal character. Under that, however, are pie cherry and raspberry flavors as well as piercing, razor-like acids. As a result, it’s tangy and sharp. ——M.S.(6/1/2004)—— 83
