The 2006 Aglianico Canneto is a French oak-aged selection from vines ranging from 30 to 40 years of age. It is a sleek, dark offering loaded with dark fruit, spices, leather, licorice and mint. The oak very nearly dominates the wine’s balance. The fruit here is so expressive it seems a shame to mask it. Anticipated maturity: 2010-2020. D’Angelo is one of the historic producers of Aglianico in Basilicata.Importer: Domenico Valentino, New York, NY; tel. (212) 679-0822
