The 2015 Orme in Rosso is a blend of 40% Merlot, 40% Petit Verdot and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon. Some 4,800 bottles were made. This blended Tuscan red ages in barrique, of which roughly half is new oak (with very mild toasting). This vintage is bold and richly endowed with ripe, black fruit that reflects the sunshine and the succulence of the vintage. The finish is long and broad.

The 2009 Orme in Rosso is Sangiovese, Merlot and Petit Verdot. Sweet dark cherries, flowers, mint, tar, licorice and new leather flow through with considerable depth and power. There is plenty of underlying structure to allow the 2009 to drink well for at least a number of years. Best of all, it is a terrific value. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2017.
