The 2009 Woodside Shiraz gives a medium-deep garnet-purple color and fragrant, cooler climate Shiraz aromas of black cherry and crushed fresh blackberries over violets, black pepper and anise. Medium to full-bodied, it has very crisp, refreshing acidity, a medium level of grainy tannins and a long white pepper-laced finish. Drinking now, it should keep to 2015. With a very deep garnet color, the 2008 Woodside Shiraz has aromas of macerated blackberries, espresso, dark chocolate and licorice. Medium level of fine tannins with medium to high acidity that nicely balances the richness of concentrated dark fruit and mocha flavors. Long finish. Drink now to 2018.
