A barrel selection by winemaker Russell Bevan, Chase's 2019 Zinfandel Reserve Hayne Vineyard offers darker-berried fruit than the regular bottling. It's brambly, filled with blackberries and blueberries glazed with hints of dark chocolate. Aged in French oak from Gamba, Fran?ois Frères and Boutes (approximately 75% new), this is full-bodied, perhaps a touch warm, but smooth and creamy, rich and long on the finish. Labeled at 15.6% alcohol with 154 cases produced.
