The 1999 Pinot Blanc Cuvee Drachenfels is a superb value. Its mineral-dominated aromas are penetrating, and it offers a light to medium-bodied, rich character with excellent depth of fruit. Loads of juicy citrus fruits, pears, and tangy minerals can be found in this plump yet refreshingly zesty wine. It is silky-textured, well-ripened, and extremely flavorful. Drink it over the next 3-4 years. Importer: David Shiverick, Langdon-Shiverick, Cleveland, OH; tel. (216) 861-6800.
