The 2022 Carlmagnus, a blend of 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc, derives from a 20-hectare vineyard on clay-limestone soils. Exhibiting aromas of violet, lilac, smoke and dark berries, it’s medium to full-bodied, supple and enveloping, with a flinty, slightly reduced finish.

From the clay plateau of Fronsac comes the 2021 Carlmagnus, a medium-bodied, nicely concentrated wine with tangy acids and aromas redolent of plums, rich berries, licorice and loamy soil.

The 2020 Carlmagnus has a medium to deep garnet-purple color and vivacious scents of redcurrant jelly, ripe black plums and boysenberries, plus hints of iron ore, black truffles, lavender and cracked black pepper. The medium to full-bodied palate fills the mouth with intense red and black fruit layers, supported by ripe, rounded tannins and oodles of freshness, finishing long and earthy.
