Atypically crisp considering the heat of the year, Trignon's 2017 Rasteau (the current vintage in the American market) features a tight, medium-bodied feel on the palate to go along with tart cherry and even cranberry fruit. With a few minutes in the glass, it begins to round out a bit, but stays mouthwatering on the silky-textured finish. It should drink well for another 4-5 years.

A step up over the C?tes du Rh?ne, the 2013 Rasteau offers attractive notes of spice, black cherries and dusty earth in a firm, edgy package that has good concentration. Drink it over the coming 4-5 years.

The 2012 Rasteau is the current vintage in the American market. It's a ripe, earthy bottling loaded with plum and savory notes. Medium to full-bodied, it still shows a crisp edge of acidity and some dry tannins on the finish, so serve it alongside rare beef or lamb for best effect.

More straightforward, the 2011 Rasteau Chateau Du Trignon is a traditionally-styled blend of Grenache and Syrah that was aged in tank and foudre. Offering up quality dark fruit, mineral and smoked herbs, it is medium-bodied, easygoing and slightly boring. Drink it over the coming couple of years.
