Named after Antoine Vincent's grandmother, the 2015 Pouilly-Fuissé "Marie-Antoinette" comes from the younger vines (15 to 20 years) from the chateau plus south-facing vines in Vergisson. It is matured in 20% new oak and 80% in stainless steel, the latter in order to avoid over-fattening the wine. There is a lovely touch of freshly baked popcorn on the nose, not strong, but just underlying the citrus lemon aromas. The palate is well balanced and very approachable with good acidity if not quite the complexity you might find in other vintages. There is a subtle note of dried honey mixed with nutmeg toward the brisk, slightly abrupt finish. Fine.
