The 2020 Haura has a medium to deep garnet-purple color and notes of stewed red plums, cranberry sauce, blackberry preserves and bay leaves, with a waft of lavender. The medium-bodied palate is a little hollow and chewy with a short red berry and herbs-laced finish.

The 2019 Haura reveals a medium to deep garnet-purple color with slowly emerging notes of stewed black cherries, warm plums and blackcurrant pastilles plus wafts of underbrush, smoked meats and crushed rocks. Medium-bodied, the palate delivers mouth-coating juicy black fruits with plenty of earthy sparks and a soft texture, finishing with a refreshing lift.

Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2018 Haura features blackberries, cherries and earth on the nose with a waft of herbs. The palate is medium to full-bodied, lively and chewy and finishes with an herbal lift.

Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2017 Haura has a nose of baked blackberries, mulberries, stewed plums and cherries with a waft of fragrant earth and herbs. The palate is medium-bodied and chewy with an herbal streak.

The 2016 Haura felt a little overdone on the nose, perhaps just a couple of vats of Merlot that ran away a little during fermetation? The palate is more structured and grippy in the mouth and yet it still suggests a slightly overlong extraction, leaving a little bitterness on the finish. The 2015 from this Pessac-Léognan was excellent, but I think the 2016 does not quite match up.
