Composed of 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 43% Merlot and 2% Petit Verdot, aging for 12 months in French oak, one-third new, the deep garnet-purple colored 2020 Lamothe-Bergeron sashays out of the glass with showy notes of baked black cherries, mulberries and blackberry pie, plus suggestions of Chinese five spice, red roses and wild sage. The medium-bodied palate is soft, juicy and refreshing, perhaps just lacking a little on the mid-palate and finish, but otherwise a wine of lovely purity. Very drinkable!
