A blend of mostly Nero d'Avola (85%) with some Nerello Cappuccio in a supporting role, the 2016 Cariddi is immediately recognized by its all-Sicilian personality. The Nero d'Avola leaves the strongest imprint with aromas of sour cherry, green olive and wild fennel. The Nerello Cappuccio serves to add linearity and backbone. Some 300,000 bottles were made.
