A blend of 80% Sangiovese and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2000 Marzieno Ravenna Rosso offers up expressive aromas of creosote, earth, black fruits, dried herbs, and wood. Medium-bodied and sweet, with excellent ripeness as well as a long finish, it is currently tightly-knit and austere, but a few more years of cellaring should bring forth more flesh and aromas.
