The unoaked 2013 Paal 01 100% Syrah was produced with the fruit from a 16-year-old vineyard of Tempranillo in San Martín de Unx that was regrafted to Syrah when the variety was authorized in Navarra in 2008. It fermented in concrete vats where it was kept to settle for 18 months. It had a smoky nose with plenty of spices, something meaty and floral. The palate was quite fresh, with fine tannins, light to medium-body, lacking a little in the middle. It was clean and focused, with unnoticeable tannins and juicy fruit. 16,956 bottles were filled in July 2015.
