The 2006 Corullon San Martin is not quite as alluring aromatically; it sports aromas of violets, Asian spices, espresso, leather, blackberry, and black cherry. More structured and a bit reticent on the palate, it requires 3-5 years of additional cellaring. It should be at its best from 2013 to 2026.
This estate was founded in 1998 by Alvaro Palacios. It has steep hillside vineyards ranging in age from 60 to 100 years planted to 100% Mencia, the indigenous grape of cool-climate Bierzo.
