Alain Voge recently celebrated the fiftieth anniversary of his winery. Now partnered with Alberic Mazoyer, former technical director of Chapoutier, he is slowly stepping back from daily operations. With thirty acres of vineyards, this winery makes nine differ?ent wines, Saint-Peray whites and Corn as reds being their specialties. Only the Saint?Peray Harmonie is aged in tank; the rest are aged in barrel, for extended periods of time, with up to 30 percent new oak. The two old?vines bottlings, Fleur de Crussol in Saint?Peray and Les Vieilles Fontaines in Cornas, are often the best wines produced here.
