The 2013 C?tes du Rh?ne Les Clavelles Blanc is a smoking white that’s a fabulous introduction into the whites of the south (despite it being Viognier… which is more rare in the south). Giving up ripe lemon, buttered citrus and toasted nuttiness, it starts out subtle and restrained, but blossoms with air in the glass. Clean, pure, with integrated acidity and a clean finish, enjoy this borderline outstanding beauty over the coming year.
