The 2015 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru En Remilly has an attractive nose of apple blossom and cold slate aromas, touches of yellow flower in the background. The palate is well balanced with a little more structure than the Chassagne-Montrachet La Romanée, quite gourmand towards the nutty finish, indicating that this will be best consumed in its youth rather than cellaring for many years. This is a well-crafted Chassagne-Montrachet.

The 2013 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru en Remilly comes from Buisson-Charles negociant part of the business. It has a broody, slightly tertiary bouquet at the moment with light, dried petal scents. The palate is clean and fresh with good acidity, quite linear in the mouth, nicely focused but needing to develop a little more weight on the finish.

Moving on to a selection of 2011s, the 2011 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru En Remilly (one of Essa's negociant wines) has an attractive bouquet with lemon thyme and fresh lime with well-integrated oak and faint touches of almond coming through with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with a pleasant fatness on the entry. There is certainly good weight to this Chassagne with a touch of dill and lemongrass enlivening the otherwise quite austere finish.
