Notes of crisp yellow orchard fruit, fresh pastry and white flowers introduce the 2019 Pernand-Vergelesses 1er Cru Ile de Vergelesses Blanc, a medium to full-bodied, layered and nicely concentrated wine that's bright and mineral. This, too, is a success.

The 2018 Pernand-Vergelesses 1er Cru Ile de Vergelesses Blanc has picked up considerable additional tension since I tasted it from barrel. Exhibiting notes of pear, waxy citrus rind, white flowers and fresh pastry, it's medium to full-bodied, satiny and incisive, energetic and saline.

The 2015 Pernand-Vergelesses 1er Cru Ile de Vergelesses Blanc is lovely, offering up pretty notes of buttered apples, pear and citrus. On the palate, the wine is more cohesive than it was from barrel, with a glossy attack, succulent acids and a chalky, flavorful finish.

The 2014 Pernand Vergelesses 1er Cru Ile de Vergelesses has quite a rich, lightly honeyed, tropical-toned bouquet that is nicely defined, a touch of mint developing with time. The palate is medium-bodied with a slightly waxy opening, touches of grilled walnut and oyster shell coming through, leading to an elegant, probably quite forward finish. So enjoy this as soon as it is in bottle and then over the next 4-5 years.
